Yikes, I do my bacon broiling on a wire cooling rack with a lot of parchment paper underneath to help make it less messy.

Jalapeno-stuffed-bacon-wrapped dates rolled in brown sugar is one of my favorite things to make the house smell good for a few hours. Plain applewood smoked bacon or peppered bacon and brown sugared bacon in the oven is always a winner too.

My grandmother always makes this multi-layer dessert... crumbled oreo bottom, layer of chocolate pudding, layer of banana pudding, layer of whipped cream, layer of bananas, layer of shaved chocolate, layer of chocolate pudding, etc... and when I told her I was going to top it all with a layer of crunchy sugary bacon crumbles, she made an unhappy face. But after trying it, she makes it that way every time! Or maybe just when I'm there... but I don't think so.
